OUR STORY

Our story began in the 1930s, right here on our family farm. For generations, the Dakin family has been dedicated to caring for our cows and producing the finest Red Tractor-assured quality milk.

In 2011, we decided to turn this quality milk into something truly special: Italian-style ice cream. Ever since, we have been using our rich, creamy milk to create the finest award-winning Gelato that families and businesses around Derbyshire and beyond have come to love.

Every scoop tells the story of our farm, our cows, and our commitment to quality. Great Ice Cream starts with great milk, and ours has been nurtured for generations. We’re proud to be a local favourite and a brand that brings a little sweetness to every family day out.

Our commitment to exceptional flavours, the finest ingredients, and specialist artisan equipment imported from Italy sets us apart. Every batch of our velvety, rich ice cream is made by hand in our creamery, with less overrun (less air) for a dense, indulgent, full-flavoured Italian-style ice cream.

At Matlock Meadows, we craft artisanal ice cream using our milk and sourcing the finest quality ingredients from around the world. Our range includes over 30 decadent flavours, from timeless classics like Madagascan Bourbon Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate, and Salted Caramel, to crowd-pleasers such as Honeycomb, Bakewell Tart, Cookies & Cream, and Tiramisu.

All our flavours are available for wholesale. We supply in self-scoop 4.5 Litre Napoli pans – ideal for serving in cones or tubs – and can also provide 120ml impulse pots with spoon-in-lid or 500ml take-home tubs.
