Our Story
Hay there!
In short, we’re a family-run dairy farm, a farm that has been in our family since the 30's and for about the last 13 years, we’ve been keeping our milk to ourselves (its too good share) so we started turning it into gelato that's become famous locally and now a recognised brand that families love.

Passionate About Quality
At Matlock Meadows, we are passionate about crafting the finest quality gelato for our customers and businesses across the Midlands.
Our dedication to producing exceptional flavours and using the finest ingredients with specialist artisan equipment imported from Italy sets us apart.
All of our velvety rich gelato is made by hand in our creamery, using less overrun (less air) for a dense, rich and full flavoured Italian style ice cream
We take pride in creating a delightful experience for our customers, ensuring that every scoop of our ice cream brings joy and satisfaction.

Meet the rest of the team
The Girls below make it happen, without them there wouldn't be a Matlock Meadows!
While this section is obviously a bit of fun, its aimed at highlighting our view on the importance of the wellbeing of our animals at Matlock Meadows and this doesn't extend to just our cows!
The animals at Matlock Meadows/Masson Farm are protected by The Animal Welfare Act 2006 this is the main law that protects vertebrate animals. It requires owners and keepers to ensure that their animals have a suitable environment, diet, and place to live and our farm welfare statement includes the standards that are in place to ensure the well-being and the duty of care we have to all of our livestock here.
We follow the 5 freedom framework;
-
Freedom from hunger and thirst
-
Freedom from discomfort
-
Freedom from pain, injury, and disease
-
Freedom to express normal behaviour (we discourage our cows from long office hours, using rollercoasters and signing up to dating apps)
-
Freedom from fear and distress
